Hello I’m Farmer Phil & I Farm Cwmrath Farm on The Pembrokeshire Coast. My self & my wife were both brought up in a farming background & I have always been involved in farming and the countryside. I left school at the age of 15 to work on our family farm with my father in Monmouthshire, and then in 1967 my father moved the family to Pembrokeshire, where I worked on various farms including my fathers.
Then in 1975 I became a working farm manager & managed a beef & sheep early potatoes farm, and id better not forget but 1975 was the year I got married to my wife (ill get a few points there now!!)
Then !!!! (If you want to put the kettle on you can!)
Then in 1984 we moved to our present farm “Cwmrath” with my wife and children aged 5yrs & 3 yrs, I then also worked on other farms until 1989, when I joined the National Trust as a training supervisor in countryside skills.
Then in 1998 I converted the farm over to Organic and later in 2001 I decided to concentrate fully on the farm and gave up my position with the National Trust.
Since this time I have increased the farms size and in 2006 we launched Pembrokeshire Coast Organic Meat.
I am looking forward to the future, and even the next generation especially as now I have a new grand daughter Grace Marie.
